Blog 10

a. On December 16th, I studied at BBC Learning English, Geo Beats, and  I Village.
In BBC Learning English, I tried Episode 125 and 204. And at Geo Beats, I studied "Roman Forum Rome" and "Colosseum." Finally, in I Village I studied "debt discussions OT -Mom's christmas Miracle."

b. BBC Learning English is very fun because it's like a comic or animation. I'm studying Itarian in Ferris, so the topic of Geo Beats is also fun. I Village is a essay thorefore it was a little difficult for me.


c. I could learn many new words. But I couldn't understand a word -"inaugration". What does it mean?

 

d. My listening skill is improved little by little. I want to improve more. I also want to skill up my reading skill or level.

Blog 9

a. On December 9th, I studied listening for 40 minutes in Yahoo News and in Australia Network. And I studied reading for 30 minutes in USA Today Off Beat.

A news' title is Obama to "appeasement" critics: Ask bin Laden
And in Australia Network, I tried Episode 13: welcome students
On the other hand, I read "World's oldest dog dies in Japan at age 26" and "11/11/11 brings hopes of luck to couples, others across USA"

b. Yahoo News was very difficult for me, but I felt Australia Network was a little easy. USA Today Off Beat had so fun topic that I could understand the meaning.  

c. I studied many new vocabulary in USA Today Off Beat.

d. I felt my week point is still listening... So I want to improve my listening skill!

Blog 8

a. On December 2nd, I studied in Japan Times (http://www.japantimes.co.jp/text/nb20111202a1.html) on Ferris Online English Lab for about 50 minutes, and I studied reading which level is 2nd on ALC Net Academy 2 for about 20 minutes.

I made a summary of the article: Woodford, who was president of Olympus and calling into question dubious acquisition submit a letter of resignation of his post on Wednesday. On Thursday in tokyo, it was accepted. So He resign the President of Olympus but he is interviewed by FBI or other U.S. investigators until now.
  
b. On Japan Times, there are many difficult words. I tried to guess those words, I could understand a few words but I had to search almost of the words. On the other hand, I thought ALC Net Academy is very easy compared with Ferris Online English Lab.

c. I learned a number of words such as proxy, retake, accuse and so on.

d. On this class, I studied only reading. I want to study both reading and listening on the next class.

Blog 7

a. On November 25th, I studied listening on ELLLO about 20 minutes.  
b. It was a little easy because I could listen almost the sentences which was spoken. I could also answer accurately all of the question that in the program!

c. I learned a few idioms and words. I kept those words in my new vocabulary list.

d. I tried only listening both this week and last week, so I thought I should try reading program too.

Blog 6

At first, I made a mistake! I posted the Blog 6 on two weeks ago, but it didn't need to do that. So, this is a real Blog 6.


a. In November 18th, I stared to use Ferris Online English Lab. I chose Listening part on that, and I tried #573 Into City in ELLLO, and Living English in Australia Network. So I did listening only. I used all of the class for listening.

b. This site is very interesting but more difficult than ALC Net Academy 2 because everything about this site is written in English. But, difference from Net Academy 2 is many contents Ferris Online English Lab has. I may be not bored with this site.

c. I learned some new idioms in the Living English. Living English may be very useful if I use English in my dailylife in the future.

d. I could listen a conversation in ELLLO only if I listen that many times after. I want to be able to listen a conversation or speech only at one time.

Blog 6

a. This week, we didn't have a class because of school festival. But I studied in Net Academy2 and  some words of Vocabulary list.I studied reading program which leveled 2 about 40 minutes, and listening program which leveled 3 about 20 minutes. I found level 2 reading feet at last! I think I should continue to study in level 2 reading. Listening program work order as usual. I tried blind listening again! I want to upgrade my listening level from 3 to 4 someday in this semester.
I started to study words of my vocabulary list. It is hard to retain those words, but I work hard to retain all those words.
b. Today's Studying in Net Academy was very interesting. 

c. I learned some new words such as wholesome. And I added these words on my list immediately.

d. I think my study style in a rut... I want to restructure my study style until next week. I'd like to prepare to vocabulary test!

Blog 5

a. Oct.30th, I studied to focus on listening. Listening which I studied in the ALC Net Academy 2 are level 3. And I was interviewed to Jana in the last class, I was told to change reading level from level 1 to level 2. Then I changed my reading level to 2.In listening, I changed how to study. Listened the topic many times, and finally eracing the sentences just focus on listening. I found that it was difficult to listen some words which I could see when I listen to while watching the sentences.
I listened very hard, so listening part is longer than routine work. Listening studied about 45 minutes, and reading part studied about 30 minutes.
Reading also took time because it was a little difficult. I read slow compared with level 1 by any means.

b. It was very tired... Because I used all my brain mare than usual. Reading leveled 2 is a little difficult, but I want to try it more and more.

c. I learned new grammar because in listening, I tried blind listening. There were many discovery.

d. I think I continue this challenge, blind listening. In TOEIC listening, we cannot see the statements. So I believe this is a good strategy to take TOEIC examination.

Blog 4

a. Oct.21, I studied in Net Academy 2. Listening about 35 minutes and Reading about 30 minutes.listening tried level 3 again, and Reading tried level 1 and 2.

b. It was difficult to read in level 2, but listening leveled 3 and reading leveled 1 are OK. In leveled 2 reading, my reading speed slow suddenly. ( In level 1 reading, I can read the sentences which speed are about 180! But in level 2, I read sentences which speed are about 120...)

Because it may be I assume level 2 is more difficult than level 1. So I want to reduce distance between variant levels.

c. I learned some new vocabularies remain last week. I put these word on my vocabulary list sheet.

d. My reading skill is very limited, I want to try to read many times and I want to be able to read more faster.

Blog 3

a.In October 14th class,  I studied reading the first level about 40 minutes and listening the third level about 25 minutes on ALC Net Academy2. Reading's WPM was about 120~150.I studied first level, therefore I could read faster than I thought in my mind.Listening, I tried to listen "faster" many times. It was very hard to understand "faster" first try, but within a few times I could understand what speaker said little by little.I want to try more topic in the ALC Net Academy2.

 b.It was very interesting because I had a profitable time in the class. I stayed focus the training tool.
 c.This time, I learned  some new words such as overdo, hostility. I think I should write down these words in my Vocabulary list, and I must remember that. 
 d. I thought I have a limited vocablary, so I must utilize Net Academy2 and the Vocabulary list.

１． What are your language goals?
I want to make use of my educated skill for a job.

２． How is your English now?

① Skills: reading, writing, speaking, listening
My reading speed is too slow...
Writing is bad because my vocabulary scanty.
I like speaking but I cannot speak English fluency.
Maybe listenig is the best skill now I have.But it isn't very good.

② Language: pronunciation, vocabulary, idioms, grammar
When I was in the junior high school, I trained many pronunciation so I have a little assurance.
My number of the vocabularies and idioms are scarce...
I think grammar is very important to do anything but I don't understand it sufficiently. 

③ Fluency: reading quickly, understanding spoken English
I cannot reading quickly, but I can understand spoken English up to a certain extent.

３． What do you need to do to reach your goals?
I should read many books or newspapers written by English to enrich my vocabulary. And I should listen to spoken English not only in Net Academy 2. Of course I should take this class hard.

４． What is your plan for this class (how will you use this class to help you reach your goals)?
Reading quickly using the function of Net Academy 2 systems. And Listening correctly using fast or faster in Net Academy 2.

Hi! How do you do?I'm Naomi.
I'm from Saitama prefecture.
My hobbies are singing,dancing,swimming,playing the clarinet,chatting with friends,listening to music,watching television...and so on!
The reason why I chose Intensive English program is I want to communicate more with many people,and keep in touch with my host family live in U.S.A more often.
I'm looking forward to take this class.
